Update 1.2 Patch Notes


Note: I had to cut the WIP 3 content, as it isn't finished yet and I didn't want to further delay the update. This mainly just includes the two new races and the community quests. That'll come out as another update in ~2 weeks!

Additions

  • New items, accessories, equipment, status effects, etc.
  • New Druid class.
    • Harvest juice from allies/foes to summon plants to aid in combat.
    • Uses primarily Blueberry themed attacks.
  • New Duelist class.
    • Makes use of stances and sheathe attacks to buff itself and deal consistent damage.
  • Ambient follower conversation system.
    • Followers will now interact with one another occasionally in the overworld!
  • New Halloween event items, equipment, and pets.
  • Pet system (eight pets in total)..
  • Support for custom sized player model sprites & loading multiple custom models across different saves.
  • Note: If you have a custom player model you will need to reformat it to fit the new loading system. Each inflation stage is its own sprite sheet now.
  • HazelHoneyy Collaboration content!
    • New follower 
      • Variants of dialogue/personality depending on initial quest outcome.
      • Unique perma-berry defeat condition & bonus size stage.
      • Follower specific Focus mechanic that influences combat behavior.
    • Six new berry-oriented accessories.
    • New dungeon quest with unique puzzles. 
  • Percy now has a unique "Ego" follower mechanic.
  • Combat music now varies.
  • Dynamic multi-foe battles
    • When entering combat with multiple enemies nearby in the overworld their fights will now be merged into one encounter.
  • Difficulty options.
  • Class resource costs now have distinct icons.
  • Player & follower skills can now be viewed in the pause menu.

Balance/Changes

  • Changed Ariana's moveset.
    • Now uses primarily Duelist moves. 
    • Can equip Swords & Pumps.
  • Lowered the attack stat growth of magic classes (Sorcerer, Poppeteer).
    • Probably not even noticeable at low levels.
  • Drunk status changed to "Carbonated."
    • Now affects party members as well. 
  • Sentinel
    • Removed passive: Can no longer use abilities without stamina.
    • Skills unlocked via Chakra now always appear in the skill menu.
    • Added passive: When all chakra are open, gain another 20% boost to all basic stats. 
      • Note: running out of stamina still closes all Chakra.
    • Ability Adjustments
      • Deep Exhale 
        • Stamina cost: 11 >> 7.
      • Elastic Stance
        • Stamina cost: 7 >> 12
      • Release
        • Stamina cost: 6 >> 8.
      • Palm Strike
        • Stamina cost: 8 >> 13.
        • Unlock level: 2 >> 3.
      • Puffkiss Pass
        • Stamina cost: 5 >> 6.
        • Unlock level: 3 >> 2
      • Tensed Muscles:

  • Running out of an item on the hotbar now removes it.
  • Many furniture items now have additional placement options.
  • Various UI improvements.
  • Furniture items can now be placed higher on walls.
  • Gathering nodes now have independent respawn times.

Bug Fixes (Non-comprehensive)

  • Skill "Sacrifice" now properly pops followers.
  • Pump Shoes are now equippable by any class.
  • Fixed rounding error on skills "Quadruple Gut Burp" & "Belly Bounce".
  • Player can no longer go out of bounds & get stuck in Percy's crossover quest variant of Trespasser's Ridge. 
  • Fixed bucket in Greeha juicery turning into part of a bed once juice is consumed.
  • Orange haired bandit enemy is no longer missing a walk cycle.
  • Fixed Percy follower AI
    • Previously he had a 25% chance to use all of his abilities at once, and a 75% chance to do nothing each turn.
  • Berried Greeha execution now properly applies the status effect.
  • Followers can no longer be juiced at home juicing station if not Berried.
  • Summoning a Poppet no longer deflates all foes.
  • Using a golden statue now properly deflates all party members.
  • Fixed skill organization in Skills menu being clunky.

Question about the custom character reformatting. I understand that each stage for custom characters need their own file, but is there anything to use as a frame of reference or something for where the sprites need to be? It might just be a me problem but, I can't seem to figure out the borders between the sprites.

For a sprite sheet starting with $ (the ones the custom sprites use) it just automatically splits each up into  a 3x4 sheet of sprites, so you can make it any size you'd like! And the face sprites go in www > img > faces, the overworld sprites go in www > img > characters, and the pov sprites go in www > img > pictures.

okay, you never told me you could murk hazel, but you can, is there any way to get her back once she pops from being squeezed too hard..?

found a bug with the self juicer item, Im playing druid, with hazel ariana and a pet, I bought a self juicer and I have some empty bottles to fill, it doesnt remove the berry effect but it gives me a juice bottle.

also adding that it doesnt help with followers either, and that the hazel bug with the err(the one with the softlock) also happened when juicing her in the starting town 

Hazel is bugged. If she gets inflicted with berry, and she fills up, it gives an err that her face isn't found, softlocking you in battle.

I'll be putting a patch out soon that'll fix this and a few other things! TY for reporting <3

I think I got softlocked in the hazelhoneyy quest? got through the vents and got into a place with levers, but I cant do anything, they move but dont do anything

You'e got to make them all line up in one direction then it should advance the quest! Let me know if that doesn't work C:

yeah I tried both ways, but maybe the quest got bugged before? sadly I dont have a save file before to try it again X3

    if you're sprinting while rolling hazel the prompt to start the juicing room literally just doesnt start and you cant enter, I think running(pressing shift) while rolling hazel in general bugs the quest a littlem, but I just restarted the room and tried without running and it just worked

It broken :( 

The theater is bugged. All the seats are now weird pink triangles and there's stone structures in it. The pink bunny character's stage 4 doesn't exist and the game refuses to progress until it finds a file that isn't there, soft locking the game. 

Also, if you try to play the theater's stage play mini-quest, you get stuck on the intro and never load into the scenario, also softlocking the game.

The new HazelHoneyy quest line cannot be started, as the character speech bubble icon sprites are bugged. The blueberried girl's sprites are labelled with an underscore between the words, but the game searches for a version of the file with a space between the words. If you rename the icon IMG to have a space instead of an underscore, it searches for a version of the file with an underscore instead and bugs out anyway. I hotfixed this by creating two versions of the file, one with an underscore and one with a space.

Even after fixing that, the white bunny you must defeat upon entering her room refuses to die upon being defeated, softlocking you into infinite recursive battles. 

Also, the main questline cannot progress past a certain point. When searching for clues to confirm that the bandits that stole from the lepins are the same ones camped out in the mansion, one of the clues, which if I remember correctly is inside the tent, cannot be accessed, as the tent itself cannot be entered. 

Also, the side quests and bounties are bugged. None of their icons turn blue once the quest is completed and are stuck as grey. 

Also, and this one is less important but still worth mentioning. In the goblin hill south of the goblin village, there is a single space where you can walk between the upper and middle layers of the outside of the hill, as though it's all one ground and there is no massive cliff between them. 

The game is literally unplayable in this state. This is not hyperbole. There are softlocks that make it impossible to progress the game past a certain point or aquire any followers. 

Thanks for the comprehensive list! I'm working on a patch rn that'll fix all of these.

I agree with the fact that the white lepin refuses to die upon defeated, given that I personally tried and the issue definitely exists and needs to be fixed.
